September 19,
2016
My name is
Allan Brunette, and I will be your child’s Grade 7 teacher for the start of the
year. I am filling in for Mrs. Boucher
who will return to Begley Public School after the Winter Break following her
Maternity Leave.
A little
about me; I have been working for the Greater Essex County District School
Board since 2011. In the past few years
I have taught grade 7 and grade 8 at Coronation Public School and was placed in
a Special Education Resource Room at Dr. David Suzuki School. I was born and raised in Windsor and still
reside here with my family today. I have
two children aged 3 and 1 at home who keep me busy.
Our classroom
will follow the four TRIBES Agreements:
1.
Attentive
Listening
2.
Appreciations
– No Put Downs
3.
Right
to Participate/Right to Pass
4.
Mutual
Respect
If your child
is having a difficult time following any of these agreements within the
classroom they will be given a warning to correct their behaviour. If the issue continues they will be required
to complete a THINK SHEET before they leave for the day. This sheet has the student explain in their
own words what Agreement they were not following and has them take the
initiative to determine steps to correct this behaviour in the future. These THINK SHEETs must be brought home and
signed by a parent or guardian. This
process is a great way for students to recognize when their behaviour has been
inappropriate for the classroom and informs the parent about problems that are
occurring.
All students
have received an agenda and are expected to use it daily. I would like parents to review the agenda
daily and initial that you have seen it.
Agendas are a great way to keep students organized and will also be used
as a communication tool should I need to inform you of something.
This Thursday
is Meet the Staff at Begley School from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. If you are available I would love to meet
you.
My door is
always open, and the key to your child's success is having a strong partnership
together. I consider it a great
privilege and responsibility to be your child’s teacher, and look forward to a
wonderful school year.
Together in
learning,
Allan
Brunette
